Our competency-based training program enables each employee to move up in the company, at their own pace, via the competency checklists. It requires validation that they are competent and proficient in the role they have been assigned in. The employee must go thru multiple checks and mentorships to ensure that they are fully capable of taking on the associated risks and responsibilities of the new position before being granted the pay raise and job title. A unique thing about our DWS competency checklist is that it is not 100% operationally based. These checklists have also been designed to ensure the employee is growing in all aspects of the business. There are signoff sections for HR, QHSE, Dispatch, Shop, AR, and even a culture section to gauge the employee’s understanding of the company’s core values and mission statements. These competency checklists and written exams are designed to ensure that all field staff is getting the same standardized and consistent training for each level in their career path.
As of Q4 2018, a total of 58 DWS employees have achieved promotions through this program and are advancing their careers.
DWS is the only snubbing and workover company in the Northeast to have an IADC accredited competency level-based training program.
